PASSERIDA

A NEW CEILIDH TRIO FOR CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Passerida are a new, young Ely based ceilidh dance band comprising of Tim Sparrow (Frog on a Bike Ceilidh Band) Stephanie Martin and Paul Martin (Fluidic Folk & Cambridge University Ceilidh Band).

Having known each other for years from our collective time in both the Cambridge University Ceilidh Band and Granta Blue Morris, Passerida were initially born out of the need to put a scratch band together for a ceilidh at Northampton Ceilidhs in 2015. Since then we have played together on a number of occasions, before deciding it was about time we formed the band as a going concern in February 2020.

Our repertoire is drawn mainly from the English folk music tradition, with some self penned tunes by Stephanie Martin, but we still throw in a good deal of Scottish and Irish tunes just to keep things rounded.

Each of us brings considerable experience in both playing for and dancing ceilidhs. With our driving rhythm and expert callers on hand, we guarantee to help make your event a perfect success!
